Born in Arlington, Massachusetts in 1947, Mr. Balanoff received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Ithaca College in 1968 and attended the State University of New York at Buffalo where he received his Juris Doctor Degree in 1972.
The practice is highly concentrated in Matrimonial and Family Law matters such as, but not limited to, contested and uncontested divorce proceedings, custody proceedings, professional license valuation matters, Family Court matters, child support and visitation proceedings, spousal maintenance, separation agreements, post nuptial agreements, property valuation issues, post judgment modifications, contempt orders, annulments, paternity, orders of protection, and all other related matters.
Mr. Balanoff is highly regarded as a skillful strategist and aggressive litigator and has represented those within the legal profession.
The practice also encompasses real estate matters and civil litigation.
Mr. Balanoff is admitted to practice law in the state of New York, before the federal courts of the Eastern District of New York, the Southern District of New York and the Third Circuit Federal Court. He is a member of the New York State and Nassau County Bar Associations, the New York State and Nassau County Bar Associations’ Matrimonial Committee, and is a member of Nassau County Bar Association’s Judiciary Committee where he screens judicial candidates to determine whether they are qualified to serve as a judge. Mr. Balanoff has been a member of the Nassau County Bar Association’s Grievance Committee and served terms as its chairperson during his over 20 years on that committee and is appointed to the Appellate Division, Second Department’s Tenth Judicial District Grievance Committee.
Mr. Balanoff has lectured for the New York State and Nassau County Bar Associations on various matters.
